BREAKING NEWS: COURTNEY LEE TO BE TRADED TO MEMPHIS

Shooting guard, Courtney Lee has been traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Jerryd Bayless. Bayless, a combo guard, will help the Celtics back court by providing a true ball handler and instant scoring off the bench. Although Lee is a much better defender and has been shooting the ball very well this season, getting rid of Lee's contract saves a huge amount of salary cap room for Boston over the next year. Celtics owe Lee over 11 million dollars over the next two years, while Bayless' deal is expiring and is at just 3.15 mill for this season.

This trade makes sense for both teams because the Grizz need more depth at the shooting guard position with Quincy Pondexter injured. Their shooting has been keeping them from stepping up to the next level for years now, for their inside game is always great, but they could never compliment it with outside shooting.

The Celtics have been interested in Bayless for years, for he always plays well in the Garden and he can change games with his instant scoring.

This trade has not officially happened yet, but it is scheduled to become cemented on Monday. Other pieces may be involved. Marc Stein of ESPN initially broke the story and Twitter has been uncovering details ever since.
